Pick-up and return of rental cars

Your rental car will be delivered at your residence. In case your residence is more than 30 km outside of Jan Thiel, we will deliver the car for a small fee, or we agree to deliver the car at the bus station of Otrobanda.

In most cases the car will be returned at the same place where we delivered the car. In case you stay at a different location at the end of your rental period, please inform us.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pick-up your car at Hato Airport, as this is not legal for companies that are not located at the airport. We will bring the car to your residence, free of cost within 30 km of Jan Thiel. Please contact Natasja Gibbs of Dushi Taxi in case you need a transfer from and to the airport. We are able to deliver your car at Kunuku Aqua Resort. We ask for a small reimbursement for delivery and pick-up. This reimbursement amounts once €25.

We start at 08.00 AM and will bring the car to your residence until 06.00 PM, also on Sundays and holidays. This means you are able to receive your car 365 days per year, from 08.00 AM until 06.00 PM.

Payments and other questions

We will bring a mobile pin machine when we deliver your car. In case you have made your reservation online, you will have made a down payment of €75,-. The remaining amount can be paid by pin, of cash in guilders.

It is not possible to pay cash with Euro’s. You can pay the amount by pin, or you can exchange Euro’s at the airport or bank, we do accept guilders.

You are able to rent a car in case you do not have a credit card. In stead of reservation of the deposit amount on a credit card, we will ask you to pay the amount to our bank account. We have a Dutch bank account, and will refund the amount at the end of the rental period.

Our pin machine does not accept American Express. All other credit cards are accepted

We prefer PIN payments. In case you do wish to pay with your credit card, please take into account we will have to charge 5% extra on administration costs.

You have to be at lease 19 years of age to rent a car with us. It is also important that you are in the possession of a B-drivers license. Please take into account that all drivers under 23, who have their drivers license less than 3 years, are bound to an increased deductible of €750,- which cannot be redeemed.

We ask for a small down payment of €75,- per iDeal or bank transfer so that we can be sure that you will rent the car. In case you will not rent the car due to circumstances, your down payment will not be refunded.

When renting the car 30 days or more, we will offer you a discount. Please contact us by email or the contact form for more information.

It is possible to make your reservation even one year in advance. In case of last minute reservations within 24 hours we advise you to also contact us via WhatsApp or telephone. The sooner you make your reservation, the more choice and certainty you have.

We have several child seats / car seats, that you can add to your reservation. Would you like to rent a maxi cosi, please check for availability via our contact form or per email. Besides child seats for children from 9 months up to 3 years, we also have booster seats with or without backrest. Please indicate what seat you prefer for your child.

We reserve your rental car for the period you indicate when you make the reservation. If you wish to extend your rental period this is possible in case the car is still available. If this is not the case, we are happy to find another solution for you.

If one of the windows of your car has been smashed we expect you to report this to the police. We will ask you to transmit the report to us.

If your car has been stolen, we ask you to contact +59996860067 or +59996860071 directly, and inform the police (or we will do this for you). If you wish to contact the police yourself, the number is 911. You may also contact the police in Punda, +5999 461 1000, or in Otrobanda, +5999 462 7844.

In case of damage it is important that you do not move the car. You may have hit a pole or rock, have parking damage or an accident, in all cases the car must remain exactly where it was. If you move the car, you will not be insured. In case of damage please contact +59996860067 or +59996860071 directly. In most cases we will come to your location. Road service will be contacted, they will be there within approximately 30 minutes to take pictures and take your statement. As soon as this is all done, the road service or a police officer will ask you to move your car, and only then you are allowed to move the car. In case of an accident we therefore ask you to make sure you are safe, but do not move the car in any circumstance.

Your rental car has an all-risk insurance. Please note that on Curaçao you still have deductibles of €500,-. A collision damage waiver will cost €8,50 per day. If you rent the car less than 7 days, your collision damage waiver will be €59,50 in total. Passengers are insured up to the amount of Ang150.000. The car is insured against theft. Please read our Terms and Conditions.

When renting a car at Rental Car Curaçao, all kilometres are free of charge. This means no unexpected additional costs.

When you have made your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. In case you make the down payment by iDeal, you will receive another confirmation email within 24 hours. In case you make the down payment by bank transfer, you will receive the confirmation within 72 hours.
